Who We Are

Gospel Medical Missions International (GMMI) is a small and growing organization of people dedicated to helping those in need. Our primary mission is to provide medical equipment and supplies as well as food and basic services to those in need. We are a registered public charity. Anyone, regardless of faith, is welcome to join us in helping those less fortunate. GMMI is a public charity, guided by Christian principles and grounded in missionary work.

Our Story

GMMI was founded in December of 2004 by Dr. Lisa S. Kim, M.D. While doing missionary work with her church, Dr. Kim saw that the community lacked even the most basic of resources such as running water, a simple home address, clothing, food, and medicine. She was so touched by the poverty she encountered, that she and her family made it a mission to found a group to help those in need. Dr. Kim lives in Illinois with her husband, Jay Kim. Jay Kim volunteered to go to Cambodia in 2005 to establish the first mission site. Now they are expanding operations in American communities, while still supplying monetary aid overseas.

GMMI is not currently funded by any major organizations and relies on donations from caring individuals and organizations. We receive donations from individuals like you. Any amount of donation is greatly appreciated. We receive medicines, medical supplies, and other forms of donations from companies and organizations. We work only with U.S.-based nonprofit organizations.
