Our Vision

The Medicine Donation Program aims to collect quality medications as donations from legally licensed pharmaceutical distributors or obtain them at deeply discounted prices, to distribute them to people that need them the most. Our objective is to deliver resources from a place of abundance in medicine to places where the poorest of the poor reside. We believe it is more helpful to avoid preventable illness instead of prolonging the suffering. For example, it is much better to receive antibiotic therapy instead of amputating body parts. We believe in the power and value of a preventative approach. 

Who Donates?

Any caring individual is welcome to make a monetary contribution to our Medicine Donation Program. Unfortunately, we cannot accept medication from individuals. GMMI receives all of our medications from legally licensed pharmaceutical organizations. GMMI is exempt under section 501(c)3 and works only with U.S.-based nonprofit organizations.

About the Donations

Each year, hundreds of thousands of high quality prescription drugs go completely unused and wasted in many ways. While the unused prescription drugs sitting in your bathroom cabinet do contribute to this number, they are not viable for redistribution. Not only are they intended for specific individuals, but they have expiration dates and specific storage requirements. Likewise, many pharmaceutical companies and distributors often times find themselves in a similar situation but at a much grander scale, with new and untouched medications in retail condition.

Some companies show generosity by donating medications for charitable use. The donated medications get distributed to many other smaller charitable organizations or delivered to free medical clinics in impoverished countries. GMMI receives donated products from these charitable organizations.  We also do purchase a fair number of products from charitable distributors, as they were not readily donated. Our goal is to make sure that those who desperately need this valuable medicine receive it.

Our Work

There are many existing hospitals and clinics sponsored by international charity organizations, where people receive free medical services. While many of these successful clinics run by large corporations are flourishing, there are also smaller, independently-run clinics that are struggling to maintain a steady flow of funding and resources, oftentimes not even having a formal address to receive shipments. Such clinics are often stressed with long lines of patients and limited supplies, as their valuable services are in high demand. This is where GMMI comes in. We work to relieve the shortage by providing high quality medications to short-term medical mission teams. Though GMMI does not provide direct medical services, the medical mission teams utilize our medications and supplies to provide medical services at the hospitals, clinics, and villages.

GMMI sends medicine, medical supplies, vitamins, and food, all free of charge, to poverty-stricken areas of impoverished countries such as Nigeria, the Philippines, Cambodia, and Kenya. We send the same types of medication and supplies that you might receive in an American hospital, affording these people the high quality care they deserve. GMMI works with medical mission teams traveling to these impoverished countries to develop relations with the local Christian community and deliver medical aid and other provisions. We provide medicine and medical supplies to these teams at no cost and we help these teams establish mission centers and form partnerships with local Christian churches in these impoverished areas. Through these operations, GMMI is able to provide assistance with food, supplies, and education to the communities in need.

GMMI has provided more than $400,000 worth of medications to several mission sites while keeping our related costs at a very nominal level. We greatly appreciate your support of our work and thank you for your prayers and donations.
